Nantucket Bay Scallops

Nantucket bay scallops are one of my favorite winter time treats. They are like little sweet candies in your mouth. There season starts in November and can run through early January. My favorite way to cook them is to simply brown some butter in a pan. Throw a sprig of thyme and piece of garlic in the pan. Place the scallops in the pan and brown each side. This should take a minute to a minute and a half. These little guys can be quite expensive. Almost $30 a pound. They come at a price but they are something to consider as an introduction to seafood cooking.
